About Us

Brinkley Aircraft Services Ltd is a family run company based at our private airfield in Meppershall, Bedfordshire.
Andrew Brinkley built the aircraft hangar and started the company in 1984 and remains Managing Director to this day. In recent years, Andrew's son Jack started as an engineer and is working towards his B1 licence and his daughter Georgina is now Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Manager.

What We Can Do

Andrew holds and an EASA Part 66 licence, a CAA BCAR licence and is an LAA inspector. He is also an FAA A&P with an IA so we can carry out annual inspections on N-registered aircraft.
Andrew has over 35 years of experience which enables us to undertake a large variety of work including interiors, paintwork repairs, imports and exports, avionic installations, fabric work, engine repairs and overhauls, temporary IFR training screens and structural work in addition to day-to-day maintenance.

We have full EASA Part 145 and Part M approval for the majority of piston engine airframes including, but not limited to:
  • Cessna
  • Piper
  • Beechcraft
  • Grumman
  • Robin
  • Maule
  • De Havilland
  • Extra
  • Socata
  • Slingsby
  • American Champion
  • Bellanca
  • Mooney
  • Rockwell Commander

What Our Customers Say

"I have been a customer of Andrew Brinkley's company for over 15 years. During that time the company has looked after two very different aircraft for me - a Beechcraft Bonanza (a C of A machine) and a Miles Gemini (originally on a C of A and now flying on a Permit) to my complete satisfaction.
Work carried out, in addition to routine inspections, compliance with Airworthiness Directives and unscheduled rectification of faults, has included recovery from France and extensive airframe repairs to the Bonanza after it was taxied into, investigation and rectification of a deep-seated engine problem and the installation of new avionics.
The reason I have such confidence in the Company's work is the business and engineering integrity that Andrew brings to the work needed to keep his customers' aircraft in good order. I also appreciate his pragmatism and common sense; I know that everything he says needs doing does indeed need doing and that I will not have needless work imposed nor will I be over charged.
I have owned a variety of aircraft throughout most of my adult life and I have never been so satisfied with their maintenance as I have been since I became a customer of Brinkley Aircraft Services."
- Sir John Allison

"Brinkley Aircraft have maintained my classic Cessna 170A since 2006. The aircraft is registered in Germany as D-EEVY and is on a Annex 2 C of A. Brinkley Aircraft have approval from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt to carry out the Annual check. During this time I have been pleased with the standard of work carried out. Sometimes parts for older aircraft such as my Cessna 170, manufactured in 1950, can be difficult to obtain but Brinkley's have always been efficient in sourcing these.
In 2012 together with three colleagues I purchased a Robin DR400/180 which is also maintained by Brinkley Aircraft as the CAMO. The Robin, as a wood and fabric aircraft, needs a specialist maintenance organisation and Brinkley's have a strong record in this respect."
